Every CV and cover letter generated by SnapCV can be downloaded as a
professional PDF file, ready to attach to any job application.

How to Export

From the Application View

  1. Open the application you want to export
  2. Review the generated CV and cover letter
  3. Make any edits you want
  4. Click Download PDF

Your document downloads immediately.

What You Get

The PDF export produces a clean, professionally formatted document with:

  • Your contact details in the header
  • Well-structured sections (summary, experience, education, skills)
  • Consistent formatting throughout
  • A layout optimised for recruiter readability

Cover letters are exported as a separate, properly formatted document.

File Format

Documents are exported as PDF, which:

  • Looks identical on every device and operating system
  • Can be attached to any job application platform
  • Cannot be accidentally reformatted
  • Is the format most recruiters expect

Tips

Export After Reviewing

Always read through the document before exporting. It’s easier to make edits in
SnapCV than to correct a PDF.

Keep a Local Copy

Once downloaded, your PDF is yours. Keep a copy locally in case you need to
re-send it quickly.

Consistent Naming

Consider a consistent naming convention for your files, e.g.
CV_CompanyName_Role.pdf. This keeps your downloads folder manageable during an
active search.

Upgrade to Export

PDF export is available on Starter (CHF 9/month) and Career Boost (CHF 19/month)
plans.

Free plan users can generate, review, and edit their documents in SnapCV, but
cannot download PDFs.

Privacy

Your downloaded PDFs are stored only on your device. SnapCV does not retain
copies of your exported files beyond what is saved in your application history.
